Upcoming local artist’s exhibition ‘SNAPPED’

SNAPPED – not a still life is our upcoming exhibition for the approaching festive season.  It will be a themed end of year exhibition.  It is an opportunity for local artists to exhibit their work.  Artists have been invited to respond with works that capture an “off” moment not posed.  Can be whimsical, witty or wicked, charismatic or quirky.  A chance to have fun and create ‘fantasmagorical’ art.

Entries close Friday 21 October with the exhibition opening on Friday 4 November at 6pm and running until 18 December.

These photos were taken at the 15 July opening of Glimpse of China a group show by Sylvia Ditchburn, Anne Lord and Barbara Pierce with works inspired by their visit to sister city Foshan in China. It is showing at the Perc Tucker Regional Gallery in conjunction with ZHONGJIAN MIDWAY.

Sylvia with her painting of Fiona at ARTscape 2011 which is an exhibition of collaborative artworks for the highly successful event by the Spinal Injuries Association.  The exhibition continues until August 2011.

Koshi likes my art

TV celebrity David Koch aka Kochie and his wife Libby visited Townsville last weekend 18/6/2011 and dropped into my boutique gallery – Sylvia Ditchburn Fine Art Gallery in Metro Quays Ogden Street, to purchase one of my Tropical Pandanus art works. They dined at A Touch of Salt and “my wife fell in love with a Sylvia Ditchburn painting so we’ve taken a bit of Townsville home with us” Kochie said ( TB 20/6/11). Thanks Kochie for your support. A real boost for me. I try and catch a bit of Sunrise with Mel and Kochie most mornings as I really like their show.
